Local, raw, hand-bottled

Bad Ass Honey is produced at Vaucluse Farm in Portsmouth, Rhode Island.  The 40 hive apiary is located in a quiet spot where the bees are free to forage from the wild flower fields, the fruit tree orchards, the huge vegetable gardens, and the sprawling flower gardens.

We extract, strain, and hand bottle the raw honey on the property.  "Raw honey" means that it is neither heated nor treated in any way. It is best described as honey "as it exists in the beehive."  Color and taste fluctuations are the direct result of pollen and nectar that are in season.  Spring honey tends to be light and floral; late summer and fall honey has a more complex flavor and a richer color. We still can't decide which we like better!
